Gotama Sutta

「诸比丘!在我觉悟前,未等觉的菩萨起了念:『噫!这沦难的世间出生、衰老、死亡、逝没、转生,却不了知这老死之苦的出离。要到何时,这老死之苦的出离能被了知?』

“Pubbe va me, bhikkhave, sambodhā anabhisambuddhassa bodhisattass’eva sato etad ahosi: ‘kicchaṃ vatāyaṃ loko āpanno jāyati ca jīyati ca mīyati ca cavati ca upapajjati ca. Atha ca pan’imassa dukkhassa nissaraṇaṃ nappajānāti jarāmaraṇassa. Kudāssu nāma imassa dukkhassa nissaraṇaṃ paññāyissati jarāmaraṇassā’ ti?

「诸比丘!于是我想:『当什么存在而有老死?由何为缘而有老死?』诸比丘!于是我由如理作意,以慧而起现观:『当生存在而有老死,由生为缘而有老死。』

Tassa mayhaṃ, bhikkhave, etad ahosi: ‘kimhi nu kho sati jarāmaraṇaṃ hoti, kiṃpaccayā jarāmaraṇan’ ti? Tassa mayhaṃ, bhikkhave, yoniso manasikārā ahu paññāya abhisamayo: ‘jātiyā kho sati jarāmaraṇaṃ hoti, jātipaccayā jarāmaraṇan’ ti.

「诸比丘!于是我想:『当什么存在而有生⋯有⋯取⋯爱⋯受⋯触⋯六入处⋯名色⋯识⋯诸行?由何为缘而有诸行?』诸比丘!于是我由如理作意,以慧而起现观:『当无明存在而有诸行,由无明为缘而有诸行。』

Tassa mayhaṃ, bhikkhave, etad ahosi: ‘kimhi nu kho sati jāti hoti …pe… bhavo … upādānaṃ … taṇhā … vedanā … phasso … saḷāyatanaṃ … nāmarūpaṃ … viññāṇaṃ … saṅkhārā honti, kiṃpaccayā saṅkhārā’ ti? Tassa mayhaṃ, bhikkhave, yoniso manasikārā ahu paññāya abhisamayo: ‘avijjāya kho sati saṅkhārā honti, avijjāpaccayā saṅkhārā’ ti.

「如是,由无明为缘而有诸行,由行为缘而有识⋯⋯如是而有这全部苦蕴的集起。诸比丘!『集起、集起』,我于先前未闻之法生起眼、生起智、生起慧、生起明、生起光。

Iti h’idaṃ avijjāpaccayā saṅkhārā; saṅkhārapaccayā viññāṇaṃ …pe… evam etassa kevalassa dukkhakkhandhassa samudayo hoti. ‘Samudayo, samudayo’ ti kho me, bhikkhave, pubbe ananussutesu dhammesu cakkhuṃ udapādi, ñāṇaṃ udapādi, paññā udapādi, vijjā udapādi, āloko udapādi.

「诸比丘!于是我想:『当什么不存在便无老死?由何灭而有老死灭?』诸比丘!于是我由如理作意,以慧而起现观:『当生不存在便无老死,由生灭而有老死灭。』

Tassa mayhaṃ, bhikkhave, etad ahosi: ‘kimhi nu kho asati jarāmaraṇaṃ na hoti, kissa nirodhā jarāmaraṇanirodho’ ti? Tassa mayhaṃ, bhikkhave, yoniso manasikārā ahu paññāya abhisamayo: ‘jātiyā kho asati jarāmaraṇaṃ na hoti, jātinirodhā jarāmaraṇanirodho’ ti.

「诸比丘!于是我想:『当什么不存在便无生⋯有⋯取⋯爱⋯受⋯触⋯六入处⋯名色⋯识⋯诸行?由何灭而有行灭?』诸比丘!于是我由如理作意,以慧而起现观:『当无明不存在便无诸行,由无明灭而有行灭。』

Iti h’idaṃ avijjānirodhā saṅkhāranirodho; saṅkhāranirodhā viññāṇanirodho …pe… evam etassa kevalassa dukkhakkhandhassa nirodho hoti. ‘Nirodho, nirodho’ ti kho me, bhikkhave, pubbe ananussutesu dhammesu cakkhuṃ udapādi, ñāṇaṃ udapādi, paññā udapādi, vijjā udapādi, āloko udapādī” ti.
